    The American ACE 35mm Film
    Motion Picture Projector
    Up for sale is a beautiful 1920's 35mm movie projector manufactured by
    American Projecting Co. in Chicago.
    The American ACE features a gorgeous design with a see-through
    window for the film transport and a deep-black paint finish.
    This exact projector was on display at a museum before in our possession.
    The original museum card is included which describes it's history
    as one of the first "portable" home theater projector units.
    COSMETIC CONDITION:
    EX+++
    This projector is in very nice condition for its age showing minor signs of use,
    especially when considering being 100 years old! It's a large beautiful projector that would make a statement in your home.
    There is some minor paint loss/chipping on the unit,
    however the paint is still strong and intact.
    Please examine the listing photos for the overall cosmetic condition of the item.
    MECHANICAL / OPTICAL CONDITION:
    This projector did not come with a power cord, however it was
    tested with a standard US extension cable;
    The motor properly powered and the belts, transit and
    overall units all responded as should.
    After being ran for a few minutes,
    the motor drive began to slightly smoke and the power was cut to avoid damage.
    I imagine that some new lubricant/oil should solve this problem.
    All adjustments, switches and movements respond properly.
    Projection optics appear clean for their age,
    free of any fungus or haze.
