Vintage Vista Alegre for Mottahedeh Lowestoft Rose Floral and Butterfly Bowl

Description

This bowl was made by Vista Alegre of Portugal for Mottahedeh as part of their Lowestoft Rose line which was introduced in 1985 and discontinued in 1993.
A beautiful bowl  covered  the Lowestoft Rose pattern  is beautifully executed in porcelain. The Lowestoft Rose decoration shows rich color and very fine detail to the butterfly / insect, rose / floral bouquet and scroll design. The design features extensive gold encrusted enamel highlights which are in very fine condition. The serving bowl has a nice presence measuring 8 3/4" in diameter and 3 3/8" high.  The maker's marks on the bottom are a blue "VA Vista Alegre Portugal" logo and a black circle with "for Mottahedeh."The bowl is in excellent condition with no damage or noted wear.
Note:
The Vista Alegre porcelain factory was founded in 1824 near the town of Ilhavo, Portugal. Five years late they were awarded Royal designation and have continued to produce porcelains of the highest quality.
