    Description

    A. E. Chandler was a well known pioneer of service stations in Casper, Wyoming. He operated his business from the early 1900s to the early 1960s. His last location was at: 607 E. 2nd. Street. Many of his advertisements that he gave to his good customers were lovely framed prints of different locations in Wyoming. He commissioned the well know photographer, Thomas G Carrigan for the lovely pictures. Some of the 8 x10 prints had calendars attached to them. They were unique because they were attached to the back of the picture & you had to pull them down, so that they would hang under the print, & when the year was over you still had the lovely print on the wall. Others had the calendar inverted on the bottom of the frame & you pulled them down for the calendar. I am from Casper & I have a large collection of Casper items that I will be selling due to my age.
The postcards showing the Chandler service station are not included in this auction. It is only to show you his lovely place of business.
This lovely Art Deco piece was a promotion for his business sometime during the 1920s or 1930s, long before his calendar promotions in the 1950s. The size is approximately 7 1/2" x 5 1/2". The thermometer doesn't work. If you have more questions please ask. Thank you.
I have been an avid collector of antiques & collectibles for several years. I am now getting ready to start selling some of my collections so that my children won't have that job after I am gone. My collections are postcards, old magazines, old books, sheet music, old valentines & other paper goods, 78 records, jewelry, ladies compacts, perfume bottles, head vases, other ladies items, old linens, old dolls, kitchen utensils & wares, tins, glass wear, figurines, old prints, primitives, and about everything except money & stamps. I have been collecting for over 50 years, I am in my late 70s, and don't move too fast, so I am slow at getting things listed, but if you check back occasionally you might find something you might be interested in.
