Description
This listing is for a figural waste pot or tea caddy which was manufactured by the Meriden Britannia Company during the early 1870's. The pattern is one of the "Mask Patterns" which were manufactured for a short period of time up until the early 1880's and then disappeared from manufactures of silver plate catalogs. This pattern features the Bearded Man or Viking as the feet and the Victorian Woman on each handle. Both sides of the waste pot have been engraved with what could be hummingbirds and leaves with no monograms. There are no dents and the silver plate is shiny and bright and no visible repairs. It measures 8.75 inches wide and stands 5.75 inches tall.a.imagelink {color:#0000FF;} a:hover.imagelink {color:#0000FF;} a:visited.imagelink {color:#800080;} a.imagelink img.auctionimage { border: 2px solid #0000FF; } a:visited.imagelink img.auctionimage { border: 2px solid #800080; }
