    Description

    Wonderful French faience earthenware inkwell from Moustiers, France. Measures 6" long, 3" deep, and 3" to the top of the well finials. Side is decorated with two mermen or tritons. I am not sure as to the age of this item--I assume it is 20th Century, since it has country of origin marked on base. Perhaps somebody out there could help me identify its time period. Top lids are blue and brown ringed--I think to differentiate between sepia and blue ink. They have a different base color than the body, so not sure if original. Inserts are intact. The blue ringed lid has a small rim chip(see pic), otherwise, everything is in great shape. Base has some glaze crazing.
