Description
This auction is for an Antique Buckeye Special Magic Lantern Projector. It has a plaque on top marked "Buckeye Special - pat. apld. for - The Buckeye Stereopticon Co. - Cleveland O." It has its original Buckeye branded brass lens marked "Bausch & Lomb Optical Co. -Rochester, NY.

Buckeye Stereopticon Cleveland Ohio". There are two 4-1/2" diameter optical lenses. Both have chips on the edge. The lantern is gas powered, looks like 4 jets. It has a bakelite knob. It moves in and out easily. The wood base measures approximately 24-3/4" long, 5" wide 3/4" tall. The overall height with projector is 8-3/4" tall and 6" at the widest. There is a wood slide holder made to allow one card to be shown while another is replaced. When the holder moves in the other direction the second slide is projected and the first replaced. There are two glass slides.
They are black and white slides.
One is marked "Keystone View Company - Studios, Meadville, PA. - P84 Ring-necked Pheasants feeding in the snow". The other is marked "
Keystone View Company - Studios, Meadville, PA. - P100 A Veery's Eggs in the nest". Some of the wood is loose, needs to be re glued. The slides are in good shape. The Projector is in good shape, some scuffs, some rust and the chrome is blistered in places. There are some missing screws and nuts. But in working condition and I believe all the pieces are there.
