Cream pitcher and sugar bowl manufactured by the Hartford-based Barbour Silver Company circa 1900. The Barbour Silver Company, later a part of the International Silver Co., specialized in hollowware like the two items you see here.
These matching pieces are decorated with a grape vine that runs along their outer lips. They are not repousse. Both items bare the following mark on their base: “The Barbour Silver Co. Nickel Silver 4607”, indicating that these pieces are made of silverplated nickel.
Dimensions for the sugar bowl are: 2” tall X 3 ⅝” across at base X 3” across at mouth. It weighs 5.5 ounces.
Dimensions for the cream pitcher are: 3 ¼” tall X 3 ¼” across at widest point. It weighs 7.4 ounces.
Both of the items are in good condition.
