ANTIQUE SILVER PLATE TWO HANDLED SUGAR BOWL BY EMPIRE
This is a handsome antique silver plate open sugar. The distinguishing features are the two large handles with lush designs of flowers and leaves. There is an additional flower on each side, flanked by leafy stems. The top of the sugar is beaded. The interior as well as the exterior show worn silver plate in areas. There is a ding on one side. The sugar will look just as it looks in the photos-permanent patina, which looks great as a display piece. The distance across the two handles is 7 inches. The height is 3.5 inches. It was made by the Empire Silver Plate Company of Brooklyn, New York. This is a perfect container for a small bouquet, or display it on a shelf or table-perhaps with an antique book or two under it.
