Antique German silver plated lidded creamer jug.
DBGM 1000 Feinsilberauflage H.K.E. creamer 2 1/2 inch high 8 1/2 around
german silverplated brass canned condensed milk dipenser. You can pull the top off and simply insert the opened condensed milk tin. The pure silver coating is thin and This dipsenser was made in the 1950s ( Deutsches Bundes Gebrauchs Muster = design registered).
This charming little milk jug holds a secret, it contains a sharp punch that will puncture a can of condensed or evaporated milk placed in the main body, and there you have it, an instant pourer straight from the can. It's quite an ingenious design, especially since the outside is so elegant looking, while inside, there holds an ugly can! Made in Germany by the Hans Knabel Esslingen, H.K.E. company, the hammered silver plate has a real art deco look about it and is very reminiscent of the iconic WMF designs.
The conditon is good, commensurate with its vintage age, the silver plate has shed a little in places and there is a bit of tarnishing and discolouration inside, but all in all, it's in fine shape. The markings read, "D.B.G.M. - 1000 Feinsilberauflage - H.K.E.".
This little beauty would make a great addition to a collection of German silverware, or as an unusual stand alone vintage gift.
